Prerequisites
- An active FreightPOP account. If you don’t have one yet, contact sales to get started.
- MCP access enabled. An admin needs to turn on the AI Accessibility toggle for your user, and for the company, before any AI client can connect. Ask your FreightPOP admin if you’re not sure whether this is on.
How to connect
The FreightPOP MCP Server uses OAuth 2.0 — the same secure login flow banks and enterprise apps use. You never share your password with the AI client.1
Add the FreightPOP connector to your AI client
Follow the client-specific setup guide for the AI client you use. Each guide covers where to paste the connector URL and how to enable the tools.
2
Sign in through the OAuth popup
The first time your AI client calls a FreightPOP tool, a browser popup opens on the FreightPOP login page. Sign in with your normal FreightPOP credentials.
3
Approve the connection (one-time)
Review the requested permissions and click Approve. The popup closes automatically. You’ll only see this screen the first time — future sessions reuse the approval.
4
Confirmation
Your AI client will now display FreightPOP as a connected tool provider. You’re ready to start issuing commands.
First test prompt
Open a new chat in your AI client and try:“Which carriers do we have set up in FreightPOP?”A successful response lists the carriers configured on your account. This is the simplest possible check: it is read-only, needs no input from you, and confirms both the connection and your permissions in one step. If you see an authentication error or nothing happens, jump to Troubleshooting. Once that works, try a real lookup:
“Track shipment 1234567890 in FreightPOP.”
